A spectacular foliage plant with large circular, lobed leaves up to 2′ or more across. Flowers resemble a large white Astilbe in June. Prefers semi-shade in cool moist humus under deep-rooted trees or at waters edge, but will tolerate prolonged periods of flooding. Native to Northern China.
