Product Description

EPIMEDIUM  ‘Fire Dragon’ – Fire Dragon Barrenwort/Bishop’s Hat

(P.P. 17179)

Fire Dragon is semi-evergreen, clump forming with bronze margins on new foliage that provides contrast to the flowers that are yellow highlighted by red spurs. Foliage is green in summer. Epimediums are aristocratic groundcovers rarely growing more than a foot tall. They are the perfect solution for use under leggy shrubs or trees with competing roots tolerating dry shade. Leaves are attached to wiry stems that can be evergreen or deciduous depending on the species. Most evergreen to semi-evergreen are native to the Mediterranean areas whereas the deciduous are likely native to China.
