Introduced by Frank Schmidt & Son Co. from Japan where it has a successful track record of thriving in tightly spaced cities. It is ideally suited for narrow street plantings and has shown great tolerance to urban conditions and salt sprays. It is one of the hardier species of Zelkova. Copper/orange fall color. Native to Japan.
