Small native tree that has young bark with white color with green stripes then as the tree gets older the bark turns into a reddish-brown without stripes.  During spring and summer, this acer goes from a lush green to a bright yellow. Prefers partial shade to shade and humus-rich, moist, well-drained soil. Not tolerant of poor soils or drought or even full sun conditions. Useful for naturalizing in a woodland garden. Ohio native.
