A very interesting small tree with bright glossy green compound foliage. Clusters of tiny fragrant white flowers appear in August followed by clusters of striking reddish purple seedpods, which last well into fall making it look like it blooms white and then red. Highly sought after by beekeepers as a source of high-quality honey. Prefers a moist, well-drained fertile soil, and sun. Native to Korea and southwest China.
